The total assistance allocated so far is 11 million Euros, broken down into the following:
An EU-funded agriculture relief programme worth eight million Euros implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in cooperation with the Office is currently ongoing. Aid packages will be donated within this programme (saplings, animals, animal food, equipment etc) for more than 15,000 agricultural households on the territory of 29 municipalities afflicted with flood damage.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the Office set up seed distribution for sowing nearly 16,000 hectares of land owned by approximately 10,000 small farmers. The households were provided with the assistance in fuel worth almost 65 million dinars (430 tonnes of fuel) as well as 61 million dinars of financial assistance to purchase fertilizer for 8,872 agricultural households.
Funding was secured for the programme of subsidising farmers in 49 flooded municipalities in cooperation with the World Bank. The 35 million USD programme shall be implemented in the course of 2015.
